Calleo is looking for an experienced and dynamic Digital Leaning Application Architect to join one of the federal government departments.
Application Architects design, implement and evolve the application environment in the organisation. They pay close attention to how applications interact with each other to form a service and aim to improve the way applications support the business.
Responsibilities
- The Academy has a core focus on the use of technology and digital services to drive capability uplift across the department and broader APS. The Academy is seeking a senior solutions architect to enhance, develop and maintain a suite of technologies to drive capability uplift and learning & development outcomes.
- The role would be responsible for the following duties:
- Analyse and assess the business drivers of the Academy to establish technical requirements and suitable learning technologies.
- Working with a broad range of both internal and external stakeholders to undertake complex business needs analysis and system infrastructure designs, including expert knowledge of developing solutions that cut across a broad range of learning data and reporting requirements.
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of the department’s operating environment, including APS policy and legislative requirements, portfolio agendas and complex technology architecture within both a domestic and international context.
- Lead the development of learning technologies and systems that drive capability uplift.
- Ensure project risks are identified and mitigated according to the department’s risk management framework.
- Establish and maintain the Academy’s technical knowledge base across both hardware and software support and requirements.
- Apply project management principles to ensure learning technology projects are delivered in scope and managed effectively against key measures of success and timeframes.
- Evaluate completed projects to ensure deliverables remain effective in delivering key measures of success, and where required, identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for relevant digital learning technologies and learning management system infrastructure.
- Lead the creation of digital training products. This includes end-to-end creation of self-paced learning activities such as eLearning and advice to stakeholders for outsourcing procurement of digital learning solutions.
- Assume the position of technical lead of the department’s Acorn Learning Management System.
Essential Criteria
- A high level of digital literacy and demonstrated expertise.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and senior level executives.
- Experience producing high-level system designs.
- Experience in project management and implementing learning technologies.
- Experience leading high-performing technical teams.
- Ability to ensure the department’s compliance with the relevant legislative framework for implementing digital learning solutions in the APS.
- Experience providing tier 3 technical support.
- Ability to analyse and advise on digital learning requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop end-to-end digital learning products.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current trends in digital learning standards such as SCORM and xAPI.
- Experience in configuration, management and enhancement of Learning Management Systems.
- Demonstrated flexibility and resilience to work in a rapidly changing environment.
Desirable
- Experience with Acorn LMS or similar Learning Management Systems.
- Experience or knowledge on the use of technologies used to deliver learning and development such as authoring or multimedia tools.
- Experience with the use of Artificial Intelligence within a digital learning context.
- Demonstrated project management expertise in the delivery of digital learning solutions.
- Educational background or work experience within a corporate learning and development context.
