APS5 Program Officer
About the Position
Program Officers manage and work as part of small teams, responsible for planning and implementing various aspects of grants programs. These roles combine project management, stakeholder engagement, risk management, communication, administration skills. Program Officers undertake grants administration using the client's Research Management System (RMS) and other related systems.
The APS5 Program Officer would be expected to strive to master all forms of communication, engage with and support organisational change, have strong supervisory skills, support planning and projects, have strong organisational and time management skills, provide strong technical skills and be able to conduct data analysis.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Display sound judgement, strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities and respond flexibly in a changing work environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and/or programs including time management and organisational skills; and the ability to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage high-level stakeholders, build collaborative relationships and manage staff.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in word processing, spreadsheets and databases, and the ability to learn ICT systems and support colleagues in their use.
- High level of oral and written communication skills, effectively sharing clear and accurate information.
- Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for innovation and business improvement.
You will be a confident writer who can synthesise complex information into clear and persuasive communication. You are proficient with common office software such as Word or Excel and can use and quickly learn to navigate new systems. You are also able to undertake basic financial administration, such as monitoring budgets and checking expenses.
Grant administration experience is welcome but not essential. Candidates with professional experience in university/research administration, procurement, contract management, program management, executive support, office management, banking or other administrative roles are encouraged to apply.
