Vaccine Claims Assessment Officer

Our client oversees medicines and vaccines to ensure they maintain an appropriate level of quality, safety and efficacy following entry into the Australian marketplace.
  
Specific duties include:  

  • Screening of claim applications, identification of gaps in information or inadequate information and follow up to complete the information set.
  • Take responsibility for the achievements of own and team outcomes, monitor progress and follow through to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Provide advice and technical expertise in specific areas of project or program activities.
  • Perform independent research work and analysis, including the preparation of draft reports on relevant program activities and/or project milestones.
  • Implement work plans for the work area including setting tasks and priorities, managing workflow, and allocating resources.
  • Draft ministerial correspondence and media responses relating to the COVID-19 vaccine claims scheme.
  • Provide input and draft Questions on Notice responses, Senate Estimates Briefs and Annual Report input.
  • Propose and facilitate innovation initiatives and contribute to business improvement strategies and to change in workplace practices.

It is mandatory for the Candidates to have qualifications in health, sciences or related disciplines and the Candidates must be able to demonstrate:  

  • Ability to work flexibly in a high-pressure and/or changing environment.
  • Ability to work as a team to achieve results.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders through change, resolving conflict and managing sensitivities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to form productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to solve problems or address sensitive issues.
  • Analytical skills, including the ability to gather information, undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence.
  • Consider and effectively manage competing priorities and strategic directions when achieving team planning and project outcomes in line with agency goals and objectives.
  • Ability to engage with risk, including the conduct of risk assessment and risk management activities for the area of responsibility
  • Ability to ensure quality outputs including that employee maintain a high level of specialist, professional and/or technical expertise.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and handle sensitive information in accordance with privacy requirements.

Desirable     

  • Qualifications in science communications or demonstrated work experience in this field
  • Experience and knowledge in medicines/vaccines policy, programs, or regulation.
  • Experience and knowledge in benefit entitlements policy or programs.
  • Previous supervision of a team
