SAP Basis Administrator

Job Overview  
  • Updating the existing SAP environment by working with IT and business units to modernise the SAP environment.
  • Implementing additional and maintaining multiple SAP instances that comprise the Departments SAP environment.
  • Introducing technical changes to the environment using a structured approach that minimises risk and achieves high reliability, availability, and performance of each SAP instance.
  • Designing and implementing optimal SAP configuration to maximise system performance and availability.
  • Installing and configuring all SAP applications and associated Oracle databases.
  • Distributing the online SAP user workload and monitoring and managing the SAP background job workload.
  • Monitoring all SAP systems (e.g., work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space and messaging within PO including comm channels etc.).
  • Performing SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import clients as required.
  • Applying and migrating SAP notes, support packs and enhancement packs through all systems and environments using a structured methodology.
  • Participating in planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades.  
The ideal candidate will have  
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of SAP BASIS administrative functions and responsibilities.
  • Experience and knowledge of Oracle database administrator functions and responsibilities.
  • SAP certified or equivalent BASIS administrator training.
  • Ability to work, on occasion, outside of normal business hours as well as provide on-call system support.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of SAP SOLMAN (Solution Manager) and its various functions and capabilities, in particular CHARM, monitoring, and alerts.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of SAP PO (Process Orchestration) and its various functions and capabilities.
