Legal Services/Privacy Investigations Officers – EL 1/APS 6/APS 5

We are looking for multiple candidates at different levels to work in our client’s legal services division to provide legal services for both internal and external stakeholders. 

Proposed Order Term and/or Completion Date

  • 3 months with an option to extend for another 3 months. 

Location – Brisbane/Canberra/Newcastle
  
EL 1 – Assistant Director – Legal Services 

Key skills/personal attributes

  • Lead and motivate staff to achieve quality outcomes
  • Understand the audience and context and effectively tailor communication and communication styles
  • Lead change initiatives and support staff through uncertainty and the change process
  • Build relationships and engage with diverse groups of people

Key duties/tasks 

  • Lead and manage staff and manage performance, attendance, and health and well-being
  • Develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning to increase performance, engagement and retention
  • Determine strategic direction for the work area aligned to agency goals and objectives
  • Manage, deliver and monitor projects and programs that may have an organisation-wide impact

APS 6 Senior Privacy Investigations Officer

  • Support and mentor others
  • Plan, organise and prioritise work in the context of competing priorities
  • Communicate effectively and adapt communication style appropriate to the audience
  • Build relationships and engage with diverse groups of people

Key duties/tasks

  • Analyse, integrate and evaluate information to make decisions and provide recommendations for review by senior staff
  • Prepare correspondence of a complex nature and contribute to briefing papers, responses to external review bodies, and ministerial responses for review by senior staff
  • Prepare draft written material including reports and corporate documentation for review by senior staff
  • Provide specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders

APS 5 Privacy Investigations Officer
  
Key skills/personal attributes

  • Support and provide assistance to others

  • Communicate confidently and present messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner
  • Build relationships and engage with diverse groups of people

Key duties/tasks

  • Analyse information and data to make decisions and provide recommendations for review by senior staff
  • Prepare correspondence on routine matters and draft documentation on complex matters for review by senior staff
  • Draft a range of written material including reports and corporate documentation for review by senior staff
  • Provide advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders
