Community & Peer Advisor

Our client, a highly regarded federal government department, are seeking a suitable Community & Peer Advisor to support and optimise client wellbeing. Working in accordance with the principles of workplace diversity, WHS practices and the APS values and principles, this role works collaboratively with the Regional Community Engagement Team to engage with internal and external stakeholders to influence high level of service for clients accessing the program and services.

Duties:

  • Lived experience of mental health issues and ADF service, as either an ex-ADF member or partner/carer of a current serving or ex-ADF member
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development, including completion of certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work
  • Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance must be obtained prior to commencing in the position.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form relationships quickly
  • Experience in casework or other human services delivery is highly desirable

Candidates should be aware that they will require a National Police Certificate and WWVP before commencing the role.
