CI – Security Officer – DM14250

We are seeking to engage an experienced Security Officer to support a Security Team in delivering a program of works aligned with the Protective Security Policy Framework Technical Notes. Specifically, the Office is seeking an officer to work collaboratively with the Agency Security Advisor in: – updating or developing security policies, procedures, and risk management strategies – develop and/or deliver both targeted and general security awareness training – supporting upgrades of infrastructure – working with Human Resources in developing/updating vetting policies and procedures to ensure the requirements of the PSPF are met.

We are seeking a partner that can work to build an internal capability and provide expert security advice to our Executive, Chief Security Officer, Chief Information Officer and ICT and Security Team. Whilst the role will work across all aspects of the PSPF, the Office has an IT Security Adviser, so you do not need to be ICT/cyber security specialists.

Working arrangements:

The role can be delivered remotely in a flexible manner (including part time). The officer should be available at least two days per fortnight in the Canberra Office to work collaboratively with staff. We believe a minimum of 15 hours per week would help achieve our outcomes, but we remain flexible.
Security Clearance:

Must have Negative Vetting Level 1  
The Must Haves:

  • Capability and capacity to deliver the services
  • Detailed understanding and experience in the application of: – the Commonwealth Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and – ASIO Technical Notes and supplementary guidance
  • Demonstrated value for money
