Business Analyst/Product Owner

Federal Government client is seeking Business Analysts/ Product Owners to assist with work across a large scale Transformation project that will modernise technology delivering end to end process and systems.
 
The Project will engage a range of internal and external stakeholders and will require significant change across technology, people, processes and structures.
The Product Management team is a small and agile multi-disciplinary team works closely with the business areas, users and our IT delivery partner to understand business needs, deliver engagement solutions and ensure to:

  • Develop high level requirements for the system build.
  • Work with Service Designers and User Experience Designers to ensure the design will meet business and user needs
  • Coordinate user research to validate opportunities and usability.
  • Ensure that business stakeholder needs are represented to the IT Solution and Build teams.
  • Act in the role of Product Owners for the project.

The primary role of the Product Owner/Business Analyst will be to:

  • Liaise with stakeholders  to gain in depth knowledge of current and new technology platforms
  • Liaise with business areas to understand and document detailed requirements for new technology
  • Work as a representative of the product management function for one or more scrum teams

 Essential criteria

  • Have previous demonstrated experience working as a Product Owner and/or Business Analyst on projects of a similar scale.
  • Have demonstrated experience in developing a range of artifacts such as User Journeys, Business Process Models, High Level Requirements, and other conceptual models.
  • Have demonstrated experience in assisting IT development teams to break down and prioritise high level outcomes into features and user stories that can be delivered iteratively.
  • Follow the department’s protocols for communication with stakeholders, format of documents, clearance processes, consultation, timeframes, and security arrangements.
  • Work collegiately with other contractors and consultants employed by the department and partner agencies
  • Experience working with and/or within the Australian Government

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in external facing customer systems.
  • Experience in Customer Relationship Management systems.
  • Experience in using Azure DevOps on large scale projects
