Assistant Director – Clinical Workforce Development

Duties
  
The Assistant Director – Clinical Workforce Development (Practice Change) will:

  • Manage Clinical Workforce Development (Practice Change) priorities to support high quality mental health service delivery. This includes but is not limited to clinical workforce development, training and practice change with a focus on suicide prevention, clinical initiatives, and Community Peer and Program activities. This includes:
  1. managing the delivery of projects.
  2. managing clinical quality improvement and practice change activities.
  3. applying project management approaches.
  4. applying change management approaches; and
  5. managing procurement activities and managing associated contracts.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve Section, Branch, Divisional and Departmental goals by anticipating and responding to stakeholder needs.
  • Develop training skills audits, training needs analyses, and other relevant business documentation.
  • Manage documentation to track, monitor, and report on projects and business as usual activities.
  • Develop and review advice, input, briefings, papers, submissions and correspondence for use in both internal and external decision-making forums.
  • Develop Clinical Innovations Section Staff on-boarding, Section Staff Wellbeing, and Section Meeting processes and documentation.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring and coaching for staff as required to effectively manage performance and encourage professional growth.

Location:

Canberra, Australian Capital Territory/ Brisbane, Queensland/ Melbourne, Victoria/ Adelaide, South Australia preferred;

Other locations will be considered

Contract

Contract until June 2022 with possible extension

Mandatory Requirements or Skills & Experience

  • There are no mandatory clinical qualifications required.
  • You must be an Australian citizen to be eligible to apply for this role as per our client’s requirement. 

Qualifications, skills and experience in mental health, psychology, social sciences, humanities or a related field, research and evaluation, analysis, program and project management, change management, procurement including contract management, administration and budget management, and staff management are highly regarded.
 
A high standard of written and oral communication is essential for this role.
  
This role has many competing priorities. The successful applicant must be IT proficient and able to work flexibly across multiple issues with limited guidance.
  
There is a high degree of stakeholder engagement in this role, requiring the successful applicant to have extensive stakeholder management experience and demonstrated communication skills to effectively manage these relationships.
