APS 6 & EL 1 Risk Officer

APS 6 & EL 1 Risk Officer

  • Initial 12 months contract with possible 12 month extension
  • Canberra, ACT
  • Develop and implement an updated risk framework, tools and resources  

Seeking a Risk practitioner to support the work on risk reform which includes providing advice in the implementation of the updated risk management framework, risk reporting, and associated templates and tools, as well as analysis and evaluation of risk issues and controls contained within risk plans. This is along-side supporting the organisation with day-to-day risk management queries and processes. The successful candidates will help to develop and implement departmental risk resources, training and planning tools.

Coordinating and assisting with the development and implementation of risk management activities across the department. This involves building risk capability through effective communication, including supporting and delivering face-to-face workshops, plus ongoing development of risk management tools and resources to raise awareness of the principles, methods and benefits of practical risk management.
EL 1
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively and facilitate risk conversations with stakeholders addressing their risk appetite and risk tolerance in order to meet the strategic business objectives. This role also requires the ability to effectively prioritise tasks to deliver outcomes in a timely manner.
This opportunity is within the Australian Public Service.  In order to be considered, please note that candidates must be an Australian Citizen at time of application as well as hold a current Baseline Security Clearance.
