APS 6 Client Liaison Officer
 
Our client leads Australia’s response to climate change and energy use, and protect our environment, heritage and water. The Communication and Media Branch within the department delivers strategic communications and media advice across all areas of the department, provides internal and corporate communications in support of the department and our ministers and supports procurement of communication goods and services for the department. They are looking for Client Liaison Officers to provide advice and support clients to purchase contemporary, best-value printed materials, communication services and promotional items to support their objectives.
  
The Job
  
The successful candidate will report to the Communication Business Manager. This role is responsible for a range of activities including:   

  • Client liaison and account management for either Climate Change and Energy Portfolios, or Environment and Water Portfolios.
  • Manage client purchasing requests from start to finish, working as the liaison between clients and suppliers to provide timely support and advice, problem solving, and excellent service.
  • Build and maintain relationships by working with clients in the communication and media branch, external suppliers, and staff across the department.
  • Maintain effective records and filing, use online systems and follow processes.
  • Opportunities for innovation – stay abreast of trends, new products, and emerging technology; work with your manager and team to identify and contribute to system and process improvements as needed.
  • Manage 1-2 staff members from time to time and might have to contribute to writing of communications plans and tactics.

Desirable qualifications  

  • Customer service, business, procurement, project management, communications, marketing or other relevant tertiary qualification.

Up to 2 x APS6 roles, one to fill a permanent vacancy and one to back-fill a role for 6 months. Role/s could be offered as a permanent transfer, a temporary transfer at level, temporary transfer with higher duties or non-ongoing opportunity.
